In November 1981, DeWitt took a leave of absence from The Statler Brothers due to surgery and treatment for Crohn's disease, : 95 from which he had suffered since adolescence. Songs he wrote for the group include " Flowers on the Wall"- which was a greatest hit during the late 1960s and early 1970s that made the group popular - "Things," "Since Then," "Thank You World," "The Strand," "The Movies," and "Chet Atkins' Hand." In 1968, while the group was under contract to Columbia Records, DeWitt recorded a solo single composed of the songs "She Went a Little Bit Farther" and "Brown Eyes" (the latter was penned by DeWitt). He was a founding member of The Statler Brothers and the group's original tenor.įor most of his career, DeWitt sang tenor for The Statler Brothers. (Ma– August 15, 1990) was an American country music singer, guitarist, and composer. But there’s a lot of great talent out on the field in South Alabama - the Bears are getting a show Keep a particular eye on the American team’s safeties, they’re ones for Chicago to watch.Lewis Calvin DeWitt Jr. My time runs short - feel free to review my day’s tweets for more, plus I’ll try to update this article before tomorrow if I get the chance. Here he is taking a curl away from Tez Walker - nice rep from the Golden Domer □ /1T0RczYmmu Notre Dame’s Cam Hart feels like a forgotten name in the draft process so far, but he’s got all the length, speed, and strength you’re looking for in an outside CB. The Bears may not need a CB, but he’s one to watch all the same. Good footwork, great eyes in zone coverage, and more than capable of throwing hands with the likes of Devontez Walker, a likely first round pick come April. The Notre Dame CB has gotten no shine in the eyes of the media, and I can’t personally understand why. Got some great corners to show out against. Keep an eye on him - big week for him to assert himself. USC WR Brenden Rice is popping today in Mobile, he looks STRONG in the National Team’s 1v1s. He kept getting tackled mid-route by the CB across from him, but he fought through and finished each play. VpTwYhCXWSĬaleb Williams’ favorite WR demonstrated a trait I hadn’t seen from him much (raw brawn) early & often on Day 1 in Mobile, and that’s a welcome sight for a team that could use an outside (often called ‘X’) receiver. Here’s a great rep with an early jam and late contest. Nobody’s gotten much going against Toledo CB Quinyon Mitchell today - he’s physical, plays with clean footwork, and manages space really well. He’s assuredly out of the Bears’ league, but he’s fun nevertheless. Made plays in both man and zone coverage. He has beautiful, efficient footwork, physical during his route stem, and natural when tracking his man down the field. Quinyon Mitchell is a corner I haven’t personally had an easy time getting film on, but his play in Mobile stood out to the point that he was probably the best player on the field across both practices. You need to hear about this Corner from Toledo Senior Bowl practices just wrapped up for both the National & American Team only hours ago - I spent the day watching DBs and Wide Receivers, and here’s what I saw:īear With Me on these columns - time is short in Mobile, Alabama, so I’m stuffing as much as I can into this article. ![]()
